Babbles - January 29 - April 26
Well the banquets for the 2008 show season are in the past and now it is time to start thinking about 2009!! We are working hard at the barn to try to decide who is going where and organizing horses, trailer space and how we can fit it all in! I think if we had 10 trailers and the horses to fill them, we would still fall short! We are very proud of all of the accomplishments in 2008, both in and out of the show ring! I am really looking forward to showing more myself, as is Ms Annette! Little Linda and Lyssie will both be showing a seperate horse in the pleasure events and the speed events. I just realized today that Christy would be moving up into the adult classes - that is scary - she can't be that old!!! We don't know yet who else will be going with us to the different shows - we have to really work on trailer slots. I wish we had enough room to take everyone who wants to go! So hang on, it will be another wild ride this show season!!
Also thinking ahead means planning for summer camp. We will be doing a few things differently. I will taking a group of my French students to France and will not be here the 1st week of June, so we will be doing a week of 1/2 day camp for riders ages 4 - 8. This week will really be geared toward that age range and offer a less strenuous day for our youngters! Then we will have 3 weeks of regular horse camp. And of course the week of July 4th we will be having advanced camp Mon - Thurs. Unless there is a huge demand, we will not be offering any other weeks of camp in July. If the need arises, then we will take a look! We will attending hte annual summer camp fair Feb 7th, so let me know if you now what week you would like to attend!!
I hope everyone has a great week - stay warm!!

You go girl!!! I wish I could lose 55 lbs. Well, I guess I could if I wanted to bad enough. LOL. We do have a student at the barn that will be showing a TWH this summer. I will send her your way.
Hey, I think I found some of those lost pounds... do you want them back?!?LOL!! We might not even recognize you now! How did you do it? I hear that the Lerros are loving it at your place - and Saundra is loving having them right across the road from her! They are a nice family. So are you going to show at Gibson this year? We are going to the usual -Gibson, Oakfield and Henry. I really need to update the website with our calendar.. I'll put that on my to do list!!! Along with the million other things!!!
Well, I did Weight Watchers and NO I don't want them back! It only took 8 months to lose that much, but I'd like to lose about 30 more eventually. Right now I'm just trying to maintain and sell my "fat clothes" so I can buy some new stuff that fits.
We are loving having Lerro family at our place and it's been great meeting at least one of our neighbors through them. I didn't realize who Saundra and Rachel were until I met them and recognized them from camp.
We are going to be going to Trenton this year and maybe some of the Henry shows, but probably not Oakfield. I never really felt very comfortable or welcome there so I think we're just going to stick with the places where we know we're welcome and wanted.
We're planning on going to the work day this Saturday. May we'll see ya'll there!
Hey, show-folks: we are having a grooming day Sunday afternoon to get ready for the 1st GCSC show. Make plans to come on out and figure out the best way to get your horse ready for the shows. Everyone will also all be in one spot to kinda plan out who needs to bring what as far as saddle pads and stuff and to work out a schedule for bathing "your" horse. Plan on getting started about 2:00. Please let one of know if you are coming!! See ya then!!
Well this is my first post in such a long time I never can remember all the sites that I'm supposed to visit and post on!!!! Anyway I have good news and bad news. On Friday we were all devastated by the loss of our 8 month old colt, Goliath, he was the roan colt. He decided to put his foot through the barn wall and cut it beyond repair. I don't think I have cried so hard in longer than I can remember.
On Sunday, we were blessed with the first colt of the spring. He is a palomino with a big blaze and two different color eyes, one blue and one brown, I sincerely hope that changes!!!! But he's healthy and cute so I guess we'll keep him! Hope all are well and the weather holds!!!
Hey, everyone, I was in Memphis/Collierville yesterday and went to Hewlett & Dunn Western Store on the Collierville square. They will no longer be carrying women's western clothing so they have it all at 50% off. They didn't have many shirts or belts left but had quite a few jeans left - Levis, Wrangler, Cruel Girl. I got a couple of belts and was pleased. Just thought I'd share!
WOW What a Weekend!! We went to the last PPP Winter Series Show. Christy and Dottie started off the show with a 14.5 in the Youth. Good enough to win 1st with 2 tenths to spare, and put Sara on the top of the 2D.
The competition between Justin and Christy is fierce. Justin came in and ran a 14.7 in the Open to place 3rd in the 1D!!! WOW - Way to go Justin. That is the fastest they have run in a while. Sugar Baby ran her fastest time too!!
There were only 3 14.5's run all day. I am bad about remembering the last 2 numbers. But either way, Christy was either 1, 2, or 3 for the whole day!!
Way to go guys!! Keep up the great work.
We did it again. PPP is definitely Dottie's pen. Christy rode her to the fastest time of the year at PPP Arena. Bungie was great for Dottie. She is definitely back on her game!!!
Marne won the open on Jill and Christy won the youth on Dottie. Justin was in the 1D in the open on Dottie and in the youth on Jill.
Then we headed down to the World Barrel Race at Tunica. Justin won $462.00. It was definitely a "Great" weekend.
Darn the rain!! The first show of the season has officially been cancelled. The good news is - that give us a little more time to get ready. We will be at the barn this weekend cleaning tack and grooming horses. If anyone wants to help, feel free!!
Just wanted to announce that I am selling Brownie and Elvis :(
So if ya'll know anyone looking, let me know.
Elvis is such a great horse name. Who wouldn't want a horse named Elvis? I still think the name Leroy is pretty funny name but he's a good reliable horse. It made me smile thinking about the name Elvis. Just had to share that.
haha, thanks:)
