Babbles July 24 - August 24
OK - my summer is almost over and I am officially in mourning!!! But life must go on. Summer camp was great and we made lots of new friends and got to see lots of old ones! There is the link to walmart.com so that anyone who would like to order any pictures from summer camp can just log on and pick the ones they like and have them printed out at their closest Walmart or even mailed directly to the house! I didn't get a picture of everyone, but I tried!! Enjoy!
New lessons are starting up and the Labor Day mini camp will be here before we know it! Annette, Justin and Sara Saddler are at the NBHA youth world show, so I am sure she will give an update once they get back. We are busy, as usual, at the barn with the normal work day plus weaning babies, building fences and other projects. We have sold a few of the horses that we don't use that much for various reasons and are looking to still thin out some broodmares and a couple more horses that just get occasional use, so there will be a few familiar faces that are gone. And we might add a lesson horse or two once we re-evaluate who we are using and what we need!
Hope everyone has a great start to school in the next few weeks and settles into that typical routine with very little work! HAve a great one and stay cool!!!

LeeAnn -
Any luck with Carson yet? Linda thought you showed him to someone before you left on vacation. I really need to find him a good home. I feel sorry for him just standing out in his pasture.
Joy,
Now that I am home, I will post him on some websites with your e-mail as the contact so that folks can ask you questions directly. Someone did look at him but her husband was going to be out of town for a couple of weeks and she wouldn't know anything until then. I will get busy right now and put him on some websites!
Sam,
Are you going to come look at Stormy? You might really like her. She just needs a gritty rider to take charge and you are definitely that!! You won't find a horse with as much training as she has had for that price anywhere!! We just don't mess with her like she needs to be. Come on out and try her!
LeeAnn, Am I missing something on the upload of the photos? Do I need a password? Thanks, Robin
Robin,
I just click on the link and it takes me right to the pictured, but you might have to set up an account first. I am not sure since I already have an account and walmart.com recognizes my computer. But the computer at the barn goes right to it, too. So I am not sure. If it is asking you for a log in name and password, you will want to set up your own - it should be really easy - so that you can order pictures and have them sent right to your walmart. You can even pick them up 1 hour! And there are some great ones of Marley in there! Try it again and see if there is a place to register. I can;t get to that screen from my computer since it knows who I am! Let me know what happens!
Robin,
I created an account with Linda's computer for the barn. All you need is you e-mail address and create your own password. It also asks for the year you were born - hope it doesn't publicize that info ;o) Let me know if you have any more issues when you try it again!
You guys are great. Always there to help when we need it. Thanks LeeAnn.
BTY are you guys having a show at Back9 this weekend?
Robin
I would love to come look at her. Just not sure when I will be able to get to it..Ive been pretty busy since school is getting ready to start back. I just got in today from Pennsylvania...I will try to find a day to stop by and ride her.
LeeAnn? I'm still having trouble getting into the pictures. I now get an error message. Can you please help? Robin
Do any of you guys ever go to the fair up here in Trenton?
Sam
I have never been to the fair there. I think Ms Annette and Justin came last year. I am not a fair person - the rides make me sick!! Haven't heard anyone say if they are doing the barrel race or not.
I see nothing about the upcoming Lipizzaner show made it to the newsletter. Is there still interest in going a a group from the barn? It is being held in Jackson on September 21st.
Mrs Lee Ann,
I will be ridin in the barrel race at the fair. the reason i was asking if you guys go to the fair is because monday night is the jr market lamb show. and i have a lamb. every year, we go and get sponsors to come and sponser us at the auction. i was going to ask you guys to be a sponsor but you dont have to worry about it =]
but if you want me to explain it, i can...
are the lippizzaner stallions REALLY coming to jackson!?!?!?!?! please tell me more about it =]
Joy,
I FORGOT!!!! Maybe I should send out a mass e-mail to all of our summer campers. I definitely want to go and the group tickets are a little cheaper. I'll get on that in the next week or so.
Sam,
I have lessons on Monday nights, so I won't get to come. I would love to come and watch! I'm not sure who from the barn might come. And we will definitely get a group together to go see the Lipazzaners. We will be sure to let you know the details of how much and stuff. I saw them when they came a couple of years ago and loved it!! It is beautiful to watch them perform!
Sam,
Is the Barrel Race at the Rodeo or is it open. In other words is it just for girls?? And what night is it? I might come to the lamb show. What time does it start.
Yes Mrs Annette,
The Rodeo is just for girls. The rodeo is friday and saturday night and starts at eight. and the lamb show is monday night and i think it starts at like one in the afternoon and the auction is at 6.
Hey, everybody! We had a great show at Henry last night. We were expecting it to be ridiculously hot, but it really wasn't bad. There was a nice breeze and the sun was pretty much behind a cloud until it set. It was much cooler once we got to the show than when we were getting ready!!! I accidentally left my results sheet and the once that Joy kept, including everyone's times, in Linda's truck, so I will have to go get them later today or tomorrow. I guess at 1:30 in the morning it is hard to remember to get everything out of Linda's truck and into mine to bring home!! I know that we had several ribbons in the rail classes and then everyone got ribbons in the speed stuff!! It was a great show, even though everything wasn't ideal. I think Brandy was suffering from PMS - she definitely wasn't herself! Molly Sue was being a little spazzy (I know - THAT is a shocker!!). Diego was convinced that the walk-trot class was being sponsored by the Kentucky Derby (he was just trotting, but BOY can he trot fast!!) And Marley was riding Poco, a 3 year old who was at his first show. But despite those things, Rachel did bettter as the night wore on - I think Brandy got to feeling better, too. Molly turned her spazzy-ness into a little speed in the right places. Kenzie is learning neautifully how to negotiate through 15 riders at blazing speeds ;o) And MArley did a FABULOUS job on Poco. He was such a good boy throughout the entire show!! He even behaved when another horse flew into a bucking fit next to him! So I will get those results to you as quickly as I can!
LeeAnn, Marley has fence marks on her back where she went off the side of Poco! She's fine but her back did get scraped pretty good. We're going to have to concentrate on "What part of WHOA don't you understand?" I'm not sure which one needs lessons first, Marley or Poco, LOL. I have to say the girls all did great. When a 10.7 speed takes sixth place, I would say everyone was flying, not just Kenzie. I know Marley came home with 7 ribbons, one being 3rd for the 3-year old class. I'm so proud of all the girls.
BTW we will probably be interested in the Lippizanner show, so keep us informed.
Robin
I would like to thank everyone who once again stepped up to help tack change Rachel and Brandy during our no event change from Western to English and back again. I don't think NASCAR has a better or faster pit crew than Rachel does. You all are awesome and we could not do it without you. THANKS!
