Babbles: November 15 - ....
Well, I am finally at home on my computer and able to close out the old thread and start a new one!! My computer at school will not support the editing software for this site, so I cannot do antyhing but read and post within a thread. But finally, here we go!!
Linda, Annette, Carrie and I had a great time at the North American International Livestock Expo watchign Dandy in his first AQHA show. He did a great job. Jackie competed in the healing competition. Even though Dandy did not place, he really had a great run, especially considering that Jackie has just been roping off of him for 3 months!! He is only going to get better!
We had the Oakfield Saddle Club Banquet last night and our kids did great!!! And even though Shane and Carla were not boarding with us until until a couple of weeks ago, I want to recognize their awards as well!! So here are how the year end awards shook out...

I am so proud of everyone!! Our kids have come such a long way in a short time!! I mean, Kenzie is only 4. Rachel did a fabulous job with Brandy... she is just an old lesson horse!! Lyssie had a great horse in Chico, but was trying to learn how to ride him. And Linda competed all season in the pleasure classes on an old barrel horse! So I think that all these kids deserve such a pat on the back!! Hopefully next season we will be back with even better horses and more practice!! So congrats to all!!
We have the Henry banquet in a few weeks and then the Gibson County banquet in January, so there are plenty more prizes to come!! I hope everyone has a great week!!!

First let me start off by saying that Cassie's wedding yesterday afternoon was absolutely gorgeous!!! She was stunning in her simple but classic white gown (of course Cassie would look fabulous in a potato sack!!!) Even though it rained some yesterday morning, the sun came out and the afternoon was beautiful!!! We wish her and Josh all the happiness in the world!! Congratulations!!!
On a related note, a big thank you to Joy and Ron. They loaded the horses in the trailer and Ron pulled it to Oakfield so that Linda, Kenzie and I could go to the wedding. And speaking of Oakfiled....

This afternoon a bunch of us are going to see the World Famous Lippazaner Stallions at the Oman Arena. So I am sure we will enjoy that!!! Hope everyone has a great week!!!
Babbles August 24 - September 21
Well, my normal after show update took a little longer this morning... apparently my "old" computer's software does not support the editing feature of this blog site anymore, so I had to go surfing for an update, which then required 15 minutes to downlaod and then of course I had to re-start my computer... so finally, here we go!!!!
We were at Trenton last night for the Gibson County Saddle Club show. This show has gotten so HUGE!! The halter class had about 20, the pee wee classes are running about 17, the youth classes had about 15 or so and even the adult classes had about 9! So I feel like any ribbons won were definitely earned!!! It was a late show, too - the barrels not ending until after 2 a.m. I was certainly glad to see my bed last night....er, this morning!!!So here is how the ribbon count went.

Little Linda had a great night in barrels - she had two 19 second runs - great job!!!!! Rachel had a rough 2nd half of the night, taking a spill off of Brandy during speed, but was thankfully more scared than hurt. I am nit sure who it is more scary for when one of our kids takes a fall - the rider or all of us standing around watching!!! But Rachel is a trooper, so I am sure she will be back at it quickly!
Well that about rouds up the results. We have a weekend off since this one is the 5th Saturday, unless there is a barrel race somewhere that we don't know about yet. Ms Annette spent her weekend at a Ranch Horse Show, where Dandy is doing really well, so I am sure she will update us when she gets back. Everyone have a great week!!
Babbles July 24 - August 24
OK - my summer is almost over and I am officially in mourning!!! But life must go on. Summer camp was great and we made lots of new friends and got to see lots of old ones! There is the link to walmart.com so that anyone who would like to order any pictures from summer camp can just log on and pick the ones they like and have them printed out at their closest Walmart or even mailed directly to the house! I didn't get a picture of everyone, but I tried!! Enjoy!
New lessons are starting up and the Labor Day mini camp will be here before we know it! Annette, Justin and Sara Saddler are at the NBHA youth world show, so I am sure she will give an update once they get back. We are busy, as usual, at the barn with the normal work day plus weaning babies, building fences and other projects. We have sold a few of the horses that we don't use that much for various reasons and are looking to still thin out some broodmares and a couple more horses that just get occasional use, so there will be a few familiar faces that are gone. And we might add a lesson horse or two once we re-evaluate who we are using and what we need!
Hope everyone has a great start to school in the next few weeks and settles into that typical routine with very little work! HAve a great one and stay cool!!!
Babbles: June 10 - July 24
OK, Ms Linda, a fresh new page just for you!! Everyone, if you haven;t been on the blog in a few days, be sure to read the last thread to see all of the comments about the Henry Show and 4Hers! (although we are still waiting for Ms Annette to post all of the official winnings from the regional 4H show)
The article in the Jackson Sun neighbors section about summer camp was great (Rhonda - glad Mallory and Wilson liked their pics!!) We have already gotten some reponse from it today. Like Ms Linda said, free publicity is great!!
Summer camp is going well - it is just HOT!!! We have another great group. Lots of return campers in my and Ms Annette's group and lots of new faces in Ms Linda's group.
Ms Annette, Justin, Sara, Ms Tootie and Ms Christy will all be at the NBHA state show this weekend. Good luck to all of them!!
